The OIX UK Economics of Identity event hosted at KMPG on Monday 9th June has generated a lot of buzz in industry about the economic value of identity.  With a capacity audience, it delved into the challenges and opportunities for industry at the start of their journey into identity assurance.  You can follow the Twitter conversations under #econID or the OIX UK LinkedIn group.

The main focus of the day included the Economics Of Identity paper published by OIX UK and Ctrl-Shift and the OIX UK, GSMA & Mobile Network Operators journey into the Role of Mobile in Identity Assurance.

Chris Ferguson, Francis Maude & Alex Howard discuss the Govt. commitment to digital ID assurance

The UK Govt. represented by Francis Maude, Minister for Cabinet Office and Chris Ferguson, Deputy Director for IDAP, spoke of their commitment to the IDAP model and digital identity assurance. The day was then turned over to industry – with the mobile sector, banking, retail, biometrics and startups given the opportunity to showcase their products and steps into identity assurance.  For a full list of speakers and their biographies please see the programme.
